Get ready for a night of toe-tapping favorites that will have you dancing in the aisles as The Belfry Music Theatre welcomes celebrated Chicago vocalist and recording artist Wayne Messmer for an evening of swinging tunes and selections from the “Great American Songbook,” as performed with a fabulous 16-piece Big Band.

Take a journey back to a time when the hit songs of the day were played live in crowded dance halls and in concert by the Big Bands like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, and the dance floors were jammed with smiling faces of the dancers.

Before the British invasion and the rise of Rock & Roll, it was the unique Big Band Sound that thrilled and captivated young and old. That fabulous sound will come alive on the stage of The Belfry Music Theatre.

Wayne Messmer, best known for his many years as the premier singer of the National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Wolves Hockey and Chicago Blackhawks and every other professional and major college team, shows his versatility backed by the swinging 16-piece Big Band led by Pete Ellman in concert celebrating the great tunes by made popular by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and other great vocalists.
